Our trained personnel are experienced in connecting geothermal boreholes to the client’s property with geothermal pipe work.
Geothermal pipe work can be anything from single installations from one geothermal borehole to multiple connections requiring a manifold system. In some of these larger geothermal pipe work projects, as many as 24 pipework connections can be made back to one single manifold. Manifolds can be installed to have surface access and can also be buried with traffic-rated access chambers for later balancing or maintenance works to the system.
Much like our geothermal drilling services, we only use certified geothermal pipe work and fittings with a full auditing trail. The connection of geothermal pipe work, once buried, is as important as the geothermal borehole loop when providing system integrity. To provide fully welded geothermal pipe work, all connection joints are electro-fused fittings. This also provides quality certification for each joint and a final pressure test for the geothermal pipe work system.
All installation teams for geothermal pipe work are fully trained and certified in the use of electro-fusion and ancillary equipment, with retesting of all personnel using electro-fusion equipment taking place every 5 years.
On completion of the borehole connections all geothermal pipe work is pressure and flow tested on completion. The final installation can, if required, have anti-bacterial products installed to clean out the complete geothermal pipe work system before installing the final heat transfer additives.
